Michael Park has been carving since 1977. A second generation woodcarver, Michael completed a 10-year woodcarving apprenticeship under his father, Master Woodcarver Don Park, and the first such apprenticeship program recognized by the state of Pennsylvania. He earned his Masters title in 1987. After pondering what area to specialize in Michael decided to concentrate on the one subject he loved most: DOGS!
In 1987 Michael opened his own carving studio where he carves among the company of his four dogs and a team of craftspeople to create beautiful renditions of countless AKC approved breeds. His versatility in a variety of woods including basswood and mahogany allows his carvings to be intergraded into furniture creating a useable art form.

Each piece from his studio line of Mantle Clocks, Water Globes, Walking Sticks or Mirrors is hand-crafted one at a time. Michael's custom hand carved renditions of customer's pets often bring tears of recognition to their eyes. With painstaking care and detail, the finished products have a charm all their own. Each one is hand painted and finished, making it a one-of-a-kind collectible. All share the special ingredient Michael instills in all of his work:-- his love of dogs.
